About the room
A desk opened because the fee line kept changing shape.
Mentis Beacon is the registered business name. The reading room was established in 2021 in Munbong-dong, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi.
How the room started
In the spring of 2021, friends in Ilsan were sending SOL and bringing Hana Seo printouts that did not match each other. One transfer showed only a thin signature fee. Another, for a similar amount of SOL, carried an extra line. Hana had spent two years reconciling payment records in a Seoul back office after studying economics, and she was tired of explaining the mismatch at a kitchen table.
She rented a single room off Gyeondalsan-ro, put a desk by the window, and started taking appointments. Late in 2021 the room took the name Mentis Beacon and added a second chair for small groups. Minjae Park joined in 2023 to host the Saturday table. The work stayed the same: one receipt, a pencil, and three columns.
Who sits with you
Hana Seo keeps the window desk and the drawers. She writes the journal notes on signature fees and on the SOL an account holds. Minjae Park runs the Saturday table and the journal note on priority fees. Both of them host study sittings. The room’s background is reconciliation and library hours, and the appointment is a reading of a past receipt.
How we work with visitors
You keep the worksheet. We do not keep a copy of your printout. Seed phrases and private keys stay out of the building. A sitting covers one transaction, in English, inside the time on the rate card. Questions about whether to buy, sell, or hold SOL stay with you; the columns describe how a fee was assembled on the page in front of us.
